Brown Rice Champorado and Oats


This classic rainy day comfort food with a twist will give you something to smile about on a cold day.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 32 minutes
Serves 1 to 2

1⁄2 cup brown rice
5 cups water
1⁄4 cup sticky rice
1⁄4 cup rolled oats
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1⁄2 cup brown sugar
1⁄2 cup milk

1 Rinse the brown rice under running water for 2 minutes. In a heavy pot, add the brown rice and water. Then, let it boil for 16 minutes.
2 After 16 minutes, add the sticky rice and boil for 12 minutes. lastly, add the oats, cocoa, and brown sugar. let it boil for 2 minutes.
3 Serve in a breakfast bowl with milk on the side.
