Aspiring chefs and culinary aficionados gathered once again for a feast for the eyes and the stomach with HRCAP Year 8’s live culinary showdown. The show features some of the hotel and restaurant industry’s well-known talents including Chef Roberto Francisco, Chef Dennis Peralta, Chef Chuser Quidlat, Chef Angelo Timban, Chef Angelo Guison, Chef Manuel Nario, and Chef Miko Aspiras.

In the showdown, the five chefs cooked alongside each other to produce a full set course meal which includes appetizer, soup, salad, main dish, and dessert. To make things more challenging, the chefs drew lots on the assignments of each category to cook, no matter if it’s in or out of their forte.

The appetizer went to HRCAP President Chef Dennis, and he cooked up a mean smoked tuna with fruit for the first course. Salad duties went to the only female in the showdown, Chef Chuser, as she prepared a deconstructed Russian salad with beet roots. The hearty pumpkin soup with pea and leeks was concocted by Chef Angelo. Chef Manuel was in charge of the main dish, which made brilliant use of salmon. Meanwhile, dessert was bestowed upon Chef Miko, one of the newest HRCAP members, and his creation was a lovely dark chocolate ganache.
