Gai Ka Prow, which means stir fried minced chicken with hot basil, remains one of the most popular and well-loved Thai street food of all time. This dish is known for its amazing aroma of basil and for having just the right amount of spice. For a complete Thai experience, eat it with crisp lettuce wraps.This dish serves 2 to 3 people.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 ½ teaspoons garlic, minced
1 ½ teaspoons green and red chilis, minced
180 grams breast chicken, minced
2 pieces long beans, 2 inches
½ cup chicken stock
1 ½ teaspoons oyster sauce
Pinch of pepper
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
1 teaspoon sweet soy sauce
10 pieces fresh hot basil,
plus ¼ cup hot basil, deep fried
- Place oil in a hot pan. Add the garlic and chili. Saute until golden brown.
- Add the minced chicken and long beans. Pour the chicken stock and season with oyster sauce, pepper, dark soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, and fresh hot basil.
- Stir fry for 1 minute. Transfer to serving plate and top with deep fried hot basil. Serve with steamed rice and fried egg.
