Pininyahang Bistek Tagalog na may Gata


Coconut milk and pineapples for bistek? You can never go wrong with these classic Pinoy flavors beloved by everyone.

Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serves 2

250 grams beef minute steak
salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 big calamansi
1 red onion
1 slice fresh pineapple
1 sili sigang
2 tablespoons oil
1⁄2 cup coconut milk (gata unang piga)
1 tablespoon cornstarch slurry

1 Season the steak with salt and pepper, then marinate in soy sauce and calamansi. leave inside the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Peel and slice the red onion crosswise into rings. Peel and cut the pineapple into chunks.
2 Preheat oven to 350°F. In a pan at high heat, sauté onions, sili sigang, and pineapple in oil.
3 Combine minute steak, red onions, pineapple, and sili sigang in a baking dish. Add
gata and cornstarch slurry. Bake in oven for 25 minutes.
