A lot of people will say that Spring is the best time to visit Japan for its iconic hanami season when the glorious Sakura (cherry blossoms) trees are in full bloom, painting the country all shades of pink and blush.

But in case you can’t go to the Land of the Rising Sun this season, award-winning hotel Raffles Makati is bringing Japanese springtime to Manila.

Starting March 2nd, you can enjoy their limited edition Sakura Afternoon Tea at the Writers Bar. The sublime tea set is created in partnership with Swissôtel Nankai Osaka and designed by Pastry Sous Chef Yuki Nakamura. This treat to the senses celebrates Japan’s most beautiful season and tradition.

Aside from an exquisite selection of fine teas, guests will enjoy the selection of savory delights and sweet pastries specially made to complete the Sakura Afternoon Tea experience – all inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the Japanese Sakura flower: Sakura Smoked Salmon with Daikon Pickles, Okonomiyaki, Negi Miso Chicken Burger, Cold Soba Noodles, Japanese Rice Crackers, Sakura Coconut Rocher, Sakura and Cream Cheese Mousse, Dorayaki, Sakura and Tea Pound Cake, Matcha Roll, and Sakura Panna Cotta. Make sure to also try the freshly baked Sakura Scones with traditional clotted cream, strawberry preserves, and lemon curd.

Tea lovers can enjoy the Sakura Afternoon Tea set daily starting March 2, 2020 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for P1,500 for two guests. The special tea set is available until May 31, 2020.
