It’s always a marvel when you watch bartenders juggling alcohol bottles all while serving your cocktails, isn’t it? It truly is a sight to behold and Da Vinci Gourmet does its part to uphold the art of flair bartending in the country by organizing the Flair & Cocktail competition where students and professional bartenders can showcase and their talent.
In the event, each of the 25 competitors were given exactly 4 minutes to impress the audience and especially the judges with their tricks.
In order to bag a high score, the contestants need a well-rounded performance. First, they have to perform a breathtaking set of tricks to get a good score from the panel. In line with this, their performance should be smooth and accurate. To round it off, the cocktail concocted had to have great quality to garner a thumbs up. Both the quality of performance and the finished product itself were the one-two punch to get into the last round.
With Php20,000 at stake for the top spot, the bartenders worked their way to stay in the running. At the end of the competition, the judges unveiled a jawdropping surprise. Instead of the usual Top 10 in the preliminaries, this year had a Top 15 from different establishments and universities including Daniel Abarabar, Jonas Papa,Jerwin Cortez, Mark Pagtalunan, Justine de la Cruz, Rowell Recto, Aden Manalo among others. They are set to go head to head for the final round next week on the 15th.
