This Indonesian classic became a Pinoy favorite for its well-seasoned and tender pork and the spicy peanut sauce.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves 2 to 3
1 tablespoon soya oil
1 teaspoon garlic, chopped
500 grams pork belly
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 cup fresh tamarind
2 tablespoons white sugar
pinch of white pepper
1. Heat oil in a pan then sauté garlic. Add in pork together with all remaining ingredients. Let it simmer until pork becomes tender. Set aside then let it cool.
2. Cut pork into cubes then skewer. Grill for about 2 minutes.
Add water while simmering if the sauce gets too thick.
