No-Fail Combo: Sweet and Salty Cookies


This sweet and salty combo is always a win! It’s perfect for a snack or for lunchbox treats for the little ones.

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Baking Time: 10 to 14 minutes
Makes 20 to 25 cookies

¾ cup butter, softened
¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
2 ¼ cups + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¾ teaspoon salt
1 ½ (12-oz.) packs semi-sweet chocolate morsels
2 cups coarsely crushed pretzel sticks

1 Preheat oven to 350° F.
2 Beat butter and sugar at medium speed with a heavy-duty electric stand mixer until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla extract, beating until blended.
3 Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating just until blended.
4 Beat in morsels and pretzel sticks just until combined.
5 Drop tablespoonfuls of the cookie dough onto parchment paper-lined baking sheets.
6 Bake for 10 to 14 minutes or until desired degree of doneness is achived.
7 Transfer to wire racks, and cool completely for about 15 minutes.
