You may have heard of it making headlines all over the world before for their famous chocolate chunks. It’s called Ben’s Cookies. Ring a bell yet?
Just like any giant brand, these cookies actually came from humble beginnings. It was first created by cookbook author Helge Rubenstein at a small shop in the busy Oxford Covered Market a little over three decades ago, immediately naming it after her son (yes, that’s the lanky tall dude in the logo). Since its inception, it has sprung up into various branches in New York, Japan, Dubai, Bangkok, Korea, and Singapore.
A cookie without compromise, you’ll be delighted to find that they do not scrimp on every piece’s chunky chocolatey goodness. Made fresh off the oven, the result is always a warm and cozy batch baked to a science. Classic cookie afficionados will love their take on the chocolate chip with variants like the Milk Chocolate Chunk, Dark Chocolate Chunk, and White Chocolate Chunk. Rest assured, the ones with the more adventurous palates would find various options set to satisfy their tastebuds here from Lemon, Cranberry, & White Chocolate to Macadamia & White Chocolate.
The best news is, you don’t have to look far and wide for a taste of these gems. There’s no need to fly out or daydream. All you have to do is brave the long queues at The Podium in Ortigas to get yourself this world-famous treat, and taste the hype yourself.
